Your Service Department:  Is It Profitable?

Today, with all of the reimbursement cuts hitting HME, it becomes imperative to run all aspects of your business as efficiently as possible. 

So...how is your service department doing? 

Seven Questions to ask:

1.  Do you measure your monthly profit for your service 
        department?

2.  Do you use KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) as 
        benchmarks to monitor service department 
        performance?
                                                                                YES       NO

3.  Do your technicians have targets that correspond 
        to your KPIs? 
                                                                                YES       NO

4.  Do you measure service department productivity 
        regularly (monthly or more frequently)? 
                                                                                YES       NO

5.  Do you measure technician productivity?
                                                                                YES       NO

6.  Do your technicians know what you expect? 
                                                                                YES       NO

7.  Do you charge work done by your technicians for 
        other departments to that department?
                                                                                YES       NO
